Two Inch Diagonal with a ZS 66 SD

Hi: A couple of years ago I bought a WO ZS 66SD to replace my Pronto as I was getting frustrated with the chromatic aberration in my bird photos. I have only recently gotten the 66SD properly balanced on it's mount and I am beginning to enjoy the views.

I am using the stock 1.25 inch dielectric diagonal which makes for a handy scope but I am contemplating acquiring a 2 inch SCT diagonal so that I can use 2 inch eyepieces. The clear aperture of the drawtube is about 42mm, probably adequate for a 35mm pan with its 38.7mm field stop. This would provide a generous 5.7 degree TFoV.

So, I am looking for others who have tried this, thoughts, experiences, recommendations, what can you tell me?

Thanks

jon

Jon,

You might need to remove or shorten the conical plastic baffle to reduce vignetting.
