Replacing Orion 100mm f/6 focuser

I've replaced the stock focuser on my Orion 100mm f/6 refractor with an Orion 100mm f/9 Crayford focuser that has a draw tube that is approximately 2" or more inches longer. It was an easy swap!! Question? Will this longer length interfere with the light cone, or cause other visual problems.

I did a quick focus check with a 2" 15mm wide angle eyepiece during the day and a quick check at night on M42 and I did achieve focus. Quality I couldn't be sure of because area was awash with neighborhood lights.

Appreciate any thoughts on this matter.

Thanks,

It is possible. In the past Roland C. has suggested a simple method to test for this problem, I think it goes like this:

With the diagonal installed, bring the scope to focus at infinity. Remove the diagonal and place a pinhole at the focal plane.

Place a scale across the front of the objective and see show much you can read of though the pinhole. I figure is I can see the spacers between the front and back elements I am OK...

Anyway, that's what I remember, if I am wrong, I am sure someone with correct me..
