I have a TV 101 refractor (Renaissance) that I've owned for about 16 years now. It's a great scope, but I've often wished I had more aperature. Well, I now have the opportunity to trade the scope with gibralter mount for a Celestron C9.25 (9.25 inch Schmidt Cassegrain) on a CG5-GT mount. Does anyone know about these scopes? What would you do? Would you trade?
I need opinions on a possible trade.

Joe,
I think you would miss the ease of use and wide fields of your TV. Yes, the C9.25 would go deeper, but then you'd have to worry about cooling, dew, collimation etc etc. If it were me, I'd keep the TV AND get the C.9.25 rig. These scopes are radically different instruments. They will compliment each other, so if you can swing it, keep the TV and get a C-9.25 to keep it company.
