Please forgive me in advance, I dont know if this is the appropriate forum for this question. I have an TAK FS-128 for sale and I have no idea how much to ask for it. I have had 3 lasik surgeries in the last 12 months and my eyes have gone from bad to worse (irregular astigmatism). Am selling all scopes and my G-11 with Losmandy. Anyone care to make any suggestions as to what I shoulk for a 2 year old FS-128 in prefect condition? It has been housed in an observatory and mounted on a G-11 all its life. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

Thanks,
Rich

Go to the Amart classifieds and do a search for "TAK FS-128" This will give you a general guideline as to what they are selling for smile

Hi Rich,

Very sorry to hear about your eye problems.

I did a quick search on astromart going back to 2000:

http://www.astromart.com/classifieds/search.asp?search=FS-128&user=&category=&classified_type_id=1&sold_fl=&start_dt=1%2F23%2F2000&end_dt=&price_low_nr=&price_high_nr=&state_tx=&country_tx=&search_btn=Search

and prices vary quite a bit. Although I think the standard used price is around 70% of new.

I would expect you to get the amount of money you paid for the instrument as a starter. Right now is not the best time to try to sell high dollar equipment I would wait a month or two when income tax return season is in full swing.
