I would like to survey the group as I am considering getting one to compliment my 120mm f/1000mm. Your comments are appreciated.

My Televue Oracle III (76 mm f/7.4 triplet apochromatic refractor) is a joy to use. Too bad they don't make them anymore. I suppose a TV Pronto might be close in aperture, buy not color correction - the Oracle is a pretty nicely performing triplet. Small enough to get out the door with in 30 seconds, but good enough performance that I use it as my travel scope if I have really limited space. A joy to use for wide-field visual views of the Milky Way under dark skies.

All my refractors are actually set up ready to go in my study, from my little ED66 to my SV102ABV. But the one I grab the most when I want a quick look is my Nighthawk on a Bogen 3021 tripod and Microstar mount.

Tak FS78. A little long, but very nice.

i loved my Pronto and wish i still had it. Hold it in your hands and it was so solid. Views were always inspiring and mechanically it was super sweet. Maybe someday a Televue 76 can replace it...that would be cool!

My 2 cents,
Mike

It would have to been my Pronto, today I have a ST-80 mounted on a tripod. Its my loaner, quick look and scope that I don't mind my kids using by themselves.

What I know, the public does not approve, and what is approved, I know to be error.

StellarVue 80S (LOMO f/6) on a Tak TeeGul SP mount--I just hate alt-az! I needs my tracking mount!
