I remember the movie Time Machine (the recent one) where the guy accidentally goes into the future 800,000 years. I wonder if he stumbled upon a case of well preserved Naglers would the glass still be good? Would it be terribly yellowed and decemented or as good as new? What do you think??

Boy I'm glad the weather is clearing out up here....I haven't been able to observe in MONTHS. It's making me nuts.....I might just have to join this thread!!!
In all honesty though, I remember Alan French finding some old Televue stuff packed away in an unlikely place. If I remember correctly he put one through the diswasher!

After 800000 years, even the gamma emissions from old Erfles should have died back a bit, and the yellowing from the Lanthanide elements can be alleviated by exposure to the UV of the sun in the ozone-less sky.
Given that the Morlocks are in charge of matters technical in yon era, and are a bit fumblefingered (but I'm remembering the 1960 version), one would imagine that they would prefer big grenades like the Pentax. OTOH, their photophobia might inhibit any stargazing (and solar observation, FUGGETABOUTIT). And with eyes like theirs, who needs night vision?
As for the original Eloi (not the more voluptious types in the 1960 movie), I'd bet they'd destroy (through lack of care) any fancy ep's they bothered to handle for more than five seconds. Better bring your startparty ep's.
One thing IS for sure- your old star charts and GOTO programs will be useless for the sky of A.D. 8002007.
