To the more experienced:

The old familiar can you offer an unbiased opinion on - The Konigs. I have my beloved Nagler 26mm T5. A beauty, but heavy and costly. I would like to replace it with an obvious equal since its no fun moving down the rung.

Will the Konig II 32mm fit the bill or must it be the New Konig 32mm MK80, and how will either perform?

I know that these two sell like hotcakes on the Classifieds, so that alone says they are good.

Any comments,

Steve

Hi Steve

I borrowed a friends 32mm Konig II and used it on my TEC6. To me it looked pretty darn good even out to the edge! He uses it with his 12.5" f/5 dob and the central 75-80% of the FOV looks very good. I think it's a terrific eyepiece!

Thanks
Bill

What type of scope will you be using? The MK80 is my favorite and most used eyepiece. It's sharp (and wonderful) out to the edge in my 7" f/10 Maksutov, but I have no idea how it would perform in a faster scope.

Just a suggestion after reading this thread....

When asking about eyepiece performance, it is important to include information about the scope(s) that you will be using, particularly the focal ratio. Designs like Konigs seem to work quite well in F10 scopes but suffer badly at F5. Without info on the intended application, it is pretty hard to give specific advice except that Naglers are pretty tough to beat...
