Tele-Vue

Not owning a Tele-Vue eyepiece I must rely on peoples comments in forums such as these. It appears to me that Tele-Vue is kind of what people use as the standard by which others are judged. Are these eyepieces worth the extra cost?

Currently I am looking for an eyepiece in the 4mm range for a 12.5" F5 Newtonian. Eventually replacing my other EPs with better quality ones as I go. I am just trying to get a feel if the extra $$ will be considered well spent.

Charles, based on the many discussions on this list, I'm planning on purchasing a UO 5mm Ortho in the next month or two. Other than having to place your eye very close to the lens, I've not really read anything negative about this eyepiece and a number of contributors to the list have indicated that it has held up well when compared to more costly eyepieces, such as the Televue radian and panoptic.
