I like them very much exactly as they are. Just drop a couple of expensive eyepieces and you will feel the same.

The undercuts are like the "safety dropouts" on the front forks of most modern bicycles. The prevent the front wheel from coming off unless the quick release is loosened considerably more than just flipping the lever. I curse it everytime I pull a front wheel.
I would like them better if every one had the same indent or none. It's annoying unscrewing a quarter turn to pull one eyepiece then screwing way in to secure the next.
