I recently purchased an Optica B/C 4mm ortho on eBay. It is new (old stock). It appears to be of high quality. Do any of you know anything about the manufacturer, or have similar eyepieces by Optica?

John, Check out some old issues of Sky & Telescope from the 60s & 70s. They used to advertise back then. I believe they've long since been out of business. Mr. Darian Rachal

Ny understanding (no guarantee it's correct) is that they belong to the University Optics/Kasai/Kohki/"Circle-T" family of Abbe orthoscopics (i.e. same manufacturer). As such, I would expect the Opticas to perform as well as the other members of the family.
My 6mm Circle-T is superb. Have you had a chance to try your 4mm?
