Help in choosing a 5mm eyepiece

I notice while observing planetary nebula that I need higher magnification than a 12 inch Lightbridge can provide with an 8mm ocular. As a result, I finally decided to complete an eyepiece set and get a 5mm wideview(at least 60 degrees)for it offers the maximum magnification that I can use with my telescope on most nights.
I narrowed the choice between a Baader Hyperion or a Televue Radian. But I am unable to decided between the two. I want to save money with the Hyperion, but the Radian offers superior optics. The only way to break this stalmate in deciding is to seek information comparing the on axis sharpness and contrast between the two. If it makes a significant difference between seeing something or not at all that is important to me.
I will consider new or preferably used. Anybody here on this forum have opinions on buying from eBay? The input would be helpful. :S

Well, you've got that right, Stephen...
Planetary nebulae sure cry out more more magnification.
A 5mm Radian would certainly be a good choice.
A 5.2mm Pentax XL would be another great option.
This is THE place to buy your used astro equipment safely.
There are things I will buy on Pee-bay, but optical equipment is not one of them.
Watch the classifieds daily.

I cant offer a comparision since I am pretty sure I have never looked thru a TV radian of any flavor.

What I can say is the hyperions are quite special considering their price with the exception of the 24mm.....I know there are better 5mm (I have a couple but I paid over twice as much for them) out there but the hyperion works VERY good and when you throw the price in the mix.....its one of the best deals I know of.

I've over 400 pleasant purchases from E-Bay with some of them eyepieces, as anywhere (even Amart) use your Head when buying. And consider a Barlow negative-focal length lens to multiply the effective focal range of your existing eyepieces; use of a Barlow preserves comfortable eye-relief of longer focal length eyepieces, too.

My suggestion: 5mm Nagler... Can be had for around $200 used here on Astromart. A nice wide field of view and well corrected in an F/5 Newtonian...

Ebay... well, Astromart is THE place to buy used astronomy gear.
