Filter threads and glare

A number of my eyepieces have bright chrome exposed on the filter threads. Doesn't this create reflections?
If so, is there something that can darken them without causing buildup on the threads that will make filters more difficult to put on/ take off ?

It may creat reflections if bright star or moon
are right on the threads. One solution is to
get an empty filter ring, and put it on there.
