Without having to contact a tech at TeleVue, could someone tell me the primary difference (besides price) between the Nagler 22mm. Type 4 (82 degree) & the Nag. 20mm. Type 5 which also has an (82 degree) fov?? thank you, John M
Televue's eyepiece spec table at http://www.televue.com/engine/page.asp?ID=144 gives the more obvious differences: The type 4 has more eye relief but is larger and heavier.
I really like the type 4, but I can't say how it compares to the type 5 in optical quality or useability. For use with my eyeglasses, the type 4's extra eye relief is a big advantage. YMMV.
John Allen pointed out the main differences. Eye relief would go to the 22 and weight would go to the 20. The 20 has one less element so some would argue that it should have better light thru put, however I doubt most folks would be able to tell the difference. Personally I have never looked thru a 22, but I do have a 20T5 and it is awsome in both my scopes. I dought you would go wrong with either. Buck
