Antares Elite Plossls

Hi to all,
Looking for some high-quality plossls to use in my BV's. The Antares Plossls (the Elites, not the standard versions) have the focal lengths I'm looking for, as well as being attractively priced. I know that the optical design is similar to the Ultima/Ultrascopic brands, but has anyone actually TRIED these EP's, and perhaps had the chance to compare them to the other brands, or maybe to the TV plossls? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

I have the complete set. I think they are excellent and underrated. I never used them in a F/4.5 telescope but they have worked very well in a 6" Mak, C8, C11, 6" F/8 Achro, 7" F/9 APO, and 12.5 F/6 Newtonian. Some may consider the 7.5mm and 10mm to be a little tight on eye relief but the eye relief is the same as any other plossl or ortho. I use Burgess/TMB planetary eyepieces now for my high power views but the 7.5mm and 10mm Antares were my choice for lunar/planetary/multiple star views before the Burgess/TMB's. I bought the Antares to replace a set of orthos I was using at the time. It was a good choice. Hope this helps.

I have used the Antares Elites in 25, 20 15 and 10mm versions, and found them all to be very good.

Recently I did a side-by-side comparison of the 20, 15 and 10 Elite against the counterpart TV plossls. To me, sharpness was comparable (and excellent) for both. I felt that the TVs had slightly better contrast, seemingly from a little less scatter (e.g., on planets, the sky was blacker on the TVs). I would characterize the difference as fairly subtle though. I would also say that the Elites in the 15 and 10mm versions were more comfortable to view through, either because of greater eye relief or perhaps because the physical design of the Elites (without any eyecup) made it easier to see all the way to the field stop.
