Antares Barlow Confusion

I recently purchased an Antares 2x UB2S barlow. The box it came in says "Made in Canada." The barlow itself says "Made in Japan." Frankly, I don't care where it's made because the few reviews on this Barlow are quite good. What I'm concerned about is that the barlow is not the UB2S, which is the higher quality barlow from Antares - they make a cheaper one.

So, if anyone has an answer for me, I'd appreciate it.

Looking around the web, the Antares Antares 2x UB2S appears to be the same as the old Celestron Ultima/Orion Shorty PLus. Various pages say the Antares 2x UB2S is made in Japan.

Canada seems to have some pretty lax laws on this. The Antares W-70 8.6mm came in a box that said "made in Canada" but if you disassembled the eyepiece and removed the nice aluminum barrel cover, underneath was a 9mm Synta widefield...
