Advice sought regarding 2" eyepieces

I just acquired an Orion 80mm ED refractor with a diagonal that will accept both 2" and 1-1/4" eyepieces. Heretofore I have been observing through an 8" SCT with 1-1/4" eyepieces of which I have a representative selection. If I were to get just one 2" eyepiece for my little refractor, one that might show me celestial objects I could not see as well with the 1-1/4" eyepieces on the SCT, what would you suggest?

True 2" eyepieces are rarely under 32mm and go to 56mm or so. That being the case they are really only going to give you low power. The 2" eyepieces (Naglers, Panoptics and Meade knockoffs) that are under 32mm usually also have a 1.25" barrel which really tells you that they are 1.25" eyepieces.

So, go out and find a good 2" 32 or 40mm eyepiece such as the University Optics models or other good brand name and drink in big gulps of sky.
