I'm looking for a 5mm with good eye relief for use on a 12.5" f5 dob with ServoCAT. Aside from the wider FOV of the XW, what are the differences if any between the two? Many Thanks, Frank

Floyd did a nice review of the TMB/BO Planetaries where both the Radian and the XL (not XW) were in the mix. See that for impressions of the Radian vs XLs.

Frank, I would describe the XW as having all the good qualities of the Nagler 5T6 with the ER of the radian, and little to none of the radian's detracting color problems. The only - and I mean only - negative I have ever heard about the 5XW concerns its use during a lunar occultation. It seems this EP will yield some internal reflection when observing a planet or bright star occulting a non-illuminated lunar limb. Pretty specific, huh?
