First thanks for all the great inputs on the ideal Televue Line up. My work horse is a 21 Pentax followed by 9mm Nagler - I have a cheap 2" 40mm erfle for finding stuff and had planned to go to the 31 mm nagler - Any advice on going to the 26 nagler rather than the 31. will I always wish I had the 31 rather thant he 26?

Still searching fro reflected light,

I'll throw in a wrench and say you should get a Paracorr for your f/4.5. With the Paracorr's 1.15x barlow effect, it effectively converts the 31mm to a 27mm eyepiece, and of course greatly reduces coma that you will experience with wide fields. The 27mm effective size gives an exit pupil of 6mm (=27/4.5), about right. Without the Paracorr, the 26mm Nagler makes more sense.

I have the 31mm and Paracorr in my 16" f/4.9. Works great. Haven't tried the 26mm.

I have both and use them. The 26mm is a lot lighter, somewhat smaller field, but then the background is darker if light pollution is an issue.
