My was a 60mm camera shop scope on a wooden altazimuth tripod in 1969 or 1970. I saw all I could within a year or so; the only lasting memory I have of it is seeing Alberio as a football shape with one end golden and the other end blue.
Your first scope?

My first one was in 1986, a small 40mm table top refractor. It was very cute and it got me very nice images of the moon and fired up my interest in the night sky. Then 2 years ago my wife got me a 40 bucks 50mm scope that is actually nice once you mount it on a better tripod. That fired up my interest again, now I got myself an Orion Astroview 100 and I'm very happy with it... Still saving for an XT10!

Mine was 1985-Jason Comet catcher. 76mm Schmidt-newtonian 480mm fl. It was sealed with glass in the front, but the corrector was actually at the bottom of the eyepiece tube I think. It was advertised as a 150x scope but 80-100x was about it. Gave me good views of moon, Saturns rings, Jupiter and a few messier objects. Not a bad little scope with a solid table top mount. Went from that scope to my 10" discovery pdhq 2.5 years ago.
