Tent

Hi guys...

Beside buying the Kendrik Tent which costs a little to much for my taste, what TENT could be used as a foldable observatory?

Should be 2 room.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Nobody on the subject?

Emanuele, I have NOT seen any products out there that do what the Kendrick Tent does... (is it REALLY the only one out there?)

I do wonder though if it would be possible to get a GOOD "standard" 2 room tent, and to take it to somebody that with the knowledge/right tools could turn it into one working Astronomer's dream tent... (but also wonder how much would this cost at the end?)

Clear skies!

Something cheap with a zipper sewn into the roof! Around here, we have a shoe repair / tailor shop that takes care of all things apparel. A similar establishment should be able to help you out for a reasonable price.

Just make sure you get a heavy-duty zipper and apply a GENEROUS application of waterproof sealant if you are planning on / concerned about leaving it out durng rain.

Hi Gang,

Go to this web site for observation tents made in Canada that incorporate design recommendations from members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. It uses a special frame system that is quick to set up. Unfortunately, the cost is not posted. I doubt if it is cheap but the tents look promising.
