Need some good advice

I am trying to decide between the purhase of a Meade 10"Lx200GPS w/UHTC or a Celestron 9.25" XLT Advanced mount with goto.

I can get the 10" for around 2400. The Celestron will come in around $2000.

I would like a great visual scope, but also have a desire to do webcam photography.

Is the $400 higher cost of the Meade worth it? Or should I go with the 9.25? Are the supposedly legendary optics of the 9.25 better than the Meade 10"?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hey Brock,
Anacortes has the 9.25" for around $1900

and the 10" for $2700

To me, it would seem that the Celestron has a cheap mount if they can give it away for that price. I have a LX200 and the mount and pointing is incredibly accurate.

If the mount IS AS GOOD or even decent for that price... I'd say it's a no brainer toward the Celestron. For the $800 difference you could buy a lot of cool things. But if the mount is horrid, what is the point of having incredible optics if you can't use them properly?

Maybe someone that has seen the Celestron can comment on the mount? It looks almost like a CG-5 mount which is quite light for that size of a telescope.
