LXD55 RA Gear Problem

I removed the RA motor last night to adjust the mesh of the RA gears. I noticed there was some free play in the bronze(brass?) gear on the motor side. Is this normal or is there additional work that I must do? If so, what is needed next? Should I retrain the motors after adjusting the gears?

No, there should not be radial play between the gear and shaft. Many units have needed their set screws tightened up and secured with threadlocker (e.g. Loctite). Check both gears, and the Dec unit too. Yes, you must retrain after adjustments.
