Aside from the fact it will reduce the amount of dust into the OTA what are the visual advantages/disadvantages of the Lumicon UV Dust Seal?

Thanks

Hello Jay!

I used to have one, and even though the idea of a Dust Seal is a good one, on the other hand it is another piece of glass in your light path. Not only that, but some people let their scopes cool-off by leaving the back-end of their SCTs open, the Dust Seal would have to be removed, which defeats its purpose, I guess...

I ended up selling it...

No problem, plus if you don't have one, it gives you an excuse to buy one wink
