I have a Hardin DSH 10" I replaced the original focuser with this expensive new hardware and I don't have enough travel backwards to focus. the best I get is a big donut.Any suggestions on a fix or should I go back to stock set up?

Richard, Can you move your mirror cell back any? Sounds like your focal plane may be a bit further out than it needs to be. You'll get a better illuminated field if you can move the mirror back, or the diagonal mirror forward. (but that would require you to cut a new hole for the focuser)

Of course the simplest route is just a drawtube extension.

Richard,

You have run into the problem that occurs when you replace a high profile focuser (3.5" tall) with a low profile one (1.5" tall). You need to make up that 2" somewhere. There are 3 options:

1. Longer draw tube
2. A custom base under the focuser to make it 2" higher
3. A 2" extension tube

3 is the easiest since the focuser is installed.
