I can't stand it here in cloudy old Michigan. It's been overcast here for 8 weeks!! I'm kicking all my optical telescopic gear outa here and going into radio astronomy!

I've enjoyed everyone on Astromart, you all have been great.
I've already picked up several old satellite dishes, and created an interferometer.
Here's the picture in my yard

Cute....

Another michigander here... Up here in da tumb, we had clear skies 2-3 nights last week (I got out twice), and it looks like it might be decent for tonight and tomorrow night as well....

BTW - have you found the Michigan_astronomy yahoo group yet?

LOL! You don't know how many times I've *seriously* considered the same thing.

What part of MI are you in? It's been downright dismal here in Ann Arbor.

Boy do I know how you feel. The clouds you get passed over us here in Wisconsin first sad

Well just consider that I have had a whole 2 nights worth of observing since mid November here in White Rock Canada [ 5 miles from Blaine WA ]. Then when the skies and my schedule met on favourable terms 3 weeks ago I found my Celestron GPS11 in the observatory had neatly wrapped itself around the pier and one of the unsecured dew heater cords embedded itself right into the inside of the base/motor assembly. Result was one burned out RA motor and I'm still trying to get a return authorization from Celstron for repair. Thankfully they phoned yesterday [while I was out of course] so it should be on the way to the hospital fairly soon.
NO THIS IS NOT AN APRIL'S FOOL PRANK! IT'S ALL TRUE!

Sadly,
