CG5 mount questions

Hi out there. I have a CG5 mount which I picked up aboput 6 or 7 years ago. Mainly it's been in storage. I tried to sell it, but no takers, so I've decided to keep it and am going to use it. It seems like a fine, very smooth working mount. I have heard that one should take these things all apart and regrease them and replace bearings, ect. and this all sounds like a major overhaul to me. Can anyone tell me why this should be done if everything seems to be working well.

Because we are all fussy and it has been cloudy.

If you are happy with the movement, just put a scope on it and have fun.
