Blacking / flocking a 2" diagonal

I picked up a nice used 2" diag. However the bare (dark anodized) smooth aluminum wasn't threaded or blackened. Looking at the moon last night I kept geting reflections, so I know I need to do something.

Would some flat paint be the right place to start? Any suggestions?

I had some eyepieces that were similar. All I did was cut some flocking paper and rolled it up and inserted it into the EP barrel. I never had to glue it as the pressure kept it in place. You could do something similar with the diagonal and see if the problem is still there. This would be a little easier than a full paint job, although you may find the paint job is necessary.
