I have an orion 80ed that i want to piggyback on my 8in lx200. before i spend alot of money would like to get some opinions on the best way to piggyback. Is it best to buy 2 of the losmandy DM8 plates one for the top and one for the bottom where i can then use the losmandy counterweights for astrophotography? anyone used it like this or any thoughts on what would be the best way. thanks

Losmandy products are usually considered to be among the best. They are machined nicely and are hefty. I know a few people with rails from www.scopestuff.com and they seem happy with them too.

I believe Lance Frederick has an ED80 piggybacked on an 8-inch LX200. You can see some of his work in the CCD astrophoto forum here. You might want to contact him to get the low-down on his setup (whatever he's using, he's getting good results from it).
