Best Eyepieces

I just purchased a quality six inch F10 Starsplitter solid tube reflector. I have many different telescopes but I have never had a long focus reflector such as this one. I will mainly use this telescope for planetary and double star observing. What would be the best possible eyepieces to mate with this paticular scope to utilize its maximun potential?

I have an old RV-6 which is a 6 inch F8 Newt. I like the views with some old Meade Circle T Orthos. The narrow field of view is not a problem with the clock drive and they are sharp at F8 to the edge. Ghosting and reflected light does not seem to be a problem.

Congratulations on the purchase. One of the great things about an F10 scope is that it should rarely need collimation and pretty much any eyepiece will work great in it. If my scopes were F10, I would get a set of Celestron Ultima eyepieces. I doubt that any eyepiece would work better in that scope.

Perhaps others will help, but I believe they are for the most part, the same eyepiece as Tak LEs. I also believe Orion may have a branded a set of these as well.

For planetary and double stars, I'd go with UO orthos.

But I'd also get a wide-field in the 8mm to 12mm range -- a WO UWAN would do well at f/10, or a Nagler T6 if you also want to use it in faster scopes or are concerned about resale value.
You can't do -just- planetary and double stars!
