First off, it supports the Celestar 8, but doesn't want to drive it.
A 9-V battery illuminates the LED and something turns inside, but it
is not driving the mount - thus, it is sad.
This is a Celestron fork/drive, by the way.
Furthermore, the DEC locks but RA does not. Plus, one of the DEC
circles has been replaced by a larger round steel plate.
OK, it's functional for alt/az and a clever person can no doubt fix
the whole thing - it's not a lost cause. In any event, it's cheap
at $50. Thanks! I have a Celestron tripod that I used with it, which
I'll sell for an additional $40 with free shipping for all(though I'm
missing the 3 screws that go through the tripod plate to the C8
A deal is pending from a fine gentleman.
Ron M, my e-mails to you bounced back twice. Sorry, but you weren't
the first buyer.
