This is a 5-acre complex located in tree farming country. It is a fully furnished 1,568 sq-ft post frame and beam home with cathedral ceilings, a covered 18'x20' patio connecting to the fully equipped 18'x24' rolling roof observatory. Additionally, there is a 12'x24' workshop and two utility sheds.

The observatory is elevated on a 6' high mound to raise it above any bad Dob ground air. Inside are two permanent piers on 4'x4'x4' isolated concrete bases.
The observatory is fully insulated and has indoor/outdoor carpet. Through the South double doors is a 6'x6' concrete pad for Dob use surrounded by a large grassy area for other activities.

Included with the observatory is a Takahashi TOA-150 and a Takahashi FS102 on an AP1200 SP3 mount on a 12inch dia. pier. Also included is a black tube 14" Celestron with accessories.
The second pier has a mounted 8 inch LX200.
CCD Cameras, a 0.2A Ha Solar Spectrum Solar filter, and many other astro items are included. Ask for details.

The home has two bedrooms and two baths. It can sleep as many as 10.
Many Thanksgiving dinners for all Chiefland Astronomy Village residents have been held here.
The home can easily be separated into a comfortable West Wing for owners and an East Wing for guests.
The home has a 4 inch well with great tasting water and large 1,200 gal septic.
There also is a 50A 120VAC RV hook-up with water and septic dump.

The Chiefland Astronomy Village(CAV) has dark clear skies with average SQM readings of 21.4 overhead with well known steady skies. There are some twenty astronomy families who are full or part-time residents from Pennsylvania to as far away as Canada and England.
It is the location of monthly New Moon observing for many CAV members. A wonderful place for amateur astronomers to live and visit. Villagers help and support one another!
CAV was the home of the 1995 WSP when the WSP could not be held in the Florida Keys due to hurricane damage in 1994.
Chiefland was again the location for the 2018 WSP.
Come enjoy the warm Winter at CAV vs the cold Winter in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, our other home.
Google "Chiefland Astronomy Village". Additional photos, details, and testimonials available.

This property is presently available for inspection by appointment and sale until 4/15/2018..
NOTE - This price is below the "property only value"
i.e.[Home, Observatory, outbuildings, and land] as evaluated by the best realtor in the Chiefland area and a CMA that was done by the Levy County Property Appraisers Office last spring.
So, for better understanding -- "property value only" means that nearly all the astro equipment and furnishings are "free" for this sale!!
