Most interesting Byers Camtrak that utilizes a tangent drive (no RA Gear). This is an unfinished prototype mount that is twice the size of a standard Camtrak (see last picture for comparison). The Counterweight shaft is bent and will should be fixed but that's fairly easy. The drive does function when I applied 12v dc but did not test the rate. Stepper motor and internal electronics appear to function as they should.
Byers made several mounts in his line using tangent drives. His goal was to eliminate periodic error by using a computerized lead screw. Look into the mind of Byers by investigating this rare example of his genius.
Black Byers Camtrak not included. No counterweight and no 12v DC supply. Due to being a prototype, sale is as-is.
Shipping included for CONUS sale only.
