This is a very stiff field tripod suitable for large refractors and Cassegrains. The top of the head is 68 inches high. I designed and built this tripod to hold my Byers mounted 6 inch F18 refractor on Sierra trips. The legs are made of 3” square 0.10” wall thickness square steel tube. These are filled with urethane foam to enhance damping. This tripod weighs 85 pounds and the legs are hinged to fold together. I measured the lateral deflection and it is less than 0.00001” per pound of force at the tripod head (stiffness >100,000 pounds/inch).
The top plate is 3/8 inch thick and has a four hole (3/8” 16TPI) pattern on a 5” circle. There is a 3/8” threaded hole in the center of the plate also. I could fabricate an adapter plate for your mount, this would cost extra and I’d have to talk to you about it first. I have more pics that I can email.
Please pick this up - I would really not like to ship or deliver this item. If you are willing to pay I’ll deliver up to 300 miles for an additional $60. Shipping has to be worked out but I’ll tell you it will not be cheap. Base price for the tripod is $450
