I have a Philips Vesta 675 webcam that I mounted in an ABS case with a 1 1/4-inch nipple to fit standard focusers. I mad the modifications described on Steve Chamber's website, but I apparently did it badly. The time exposure doesn't work like it should and it is only reading every other line of the CCD. This may be due to my breaking a pin on the chip when I bent it up to attach the wire. I am pretty sure that I got it soldered on to what is left, but I am no electrician. I have no way of knowing what is wrong or how to fix it. If you think you do I will sell it to you with all of the original case parts, the new case, my poorly executed mods and all for $25 shipped in the CONUS.
P.S. I will post some pictures of it tomorrow, if necessary.
