Steinheil manual 200mm lens for Nikon. f/ratio is adjustable from 4 to 32. This would be a good lens for piggyback astrophotography (which is what I have used it for). I have replaced this lens with a true Nikon 200mm so no longer need it. Cosmetically, the lens is fair but definitely well-used. Everything works fine. The main issue is that the coatings on the front element are worn. The previous owner described the coatings to me as "mottled." The best description I can give is that the pattern on the coatings looks a bit like skin peeling after a sunburn. This issue with the coatings does not affect pictures taken through the lens. The attached picture of the North America nebula is a 30 minute exposure through this lens (just shrunk down to keep the file size small). If you would like to see larger samples of a few pictures I took through this lens, just let me know.
Price is $40 shipped within the continental U.S. Includes front and rear lens caps and a beat-up hard leather carrying case.
