For Sale Celestron GN8 short tube 8" F5 Newtonion OTA.

In very good to excellent physical condition, Very good optical
characteristics for this short tube model. In original shipping box
about 1.5 years old. Includes OTA and dust caps, Tube rings and CG5 dovetail plate, original quick mount 8x50 finder, 20mm Celestron silvertop plossel. Stock 1.25"/"T" mount Visual back on nice R&P
focuser. Also includes a Rigel 1x Quickfinder with pulsing LED display and battery with an extra base.

$400 via Paypal or MO only plus shipping takes it
(Fedex or UPS I recommend insurance, could ship as soon as Mon eve)

I have just "inherited" a nice C8 and CCD camera rig so I'm selling the GN8. It's very portable for a Newtonion and provides very nice visual performance on the fuzzies and is still short enough so it doesn't overtax the midrange mounts (CG5 SP or GP) It has a corrector
lens to obtain it's short length so there is some coloration on brighter objects. (But thats the nature of the short tube newtonions scopes.

I also have the 2" visual for this scope it can replace the 1.25 at no loss of back focus. (they both screw onto the Vixen like focuser)
Celestron advertised it as a 2" focuser and it is, (but not right out of the box) You might be able to still buy these from Orion
for about $35 plus shipping, I was planning on using it for another project. But I'll sell it with the OTA for an additional $25

You can email me if you have any questions
