Here is the culmination of many months of development to engineer the first truly portable motorized observing chair. It is a 2-axis (horizon to zenith, 360' rotation) battery operated, variable-speed azimuth observing system. Shown with 25X100 binoculars and a 4"/f6.4 refractor, it is a comet-hunters dream, or just the most relaxing way to enjoy the heavens ever created (unless of course you're a professional astronomer with access to a world class observatory!). The best way to describe the experience is that it gives the sensation of being in your own personal spacecraft because all you see are stars moving - hence , I have dubbed it the "Star Cruiser". One young woman at RTMC started laughing while cruising the cosmos in it. Can be loaded into the back of a pickup or SUV by two people - total weight approx. 100 lbs. Support system for bino's is removable by two threaded knobs. Will support up to a 6'-200lb. man (could possibly handle up to 6'2"-225lbs. with slight modification). I will sell this chair (2nd prototype) for $750 alone, or $1250 w/binoculars. Will sell bino's alone for $600 (Pro-Optic). Refractor not for sale. Will also sell plans to build this chair for $50. Pick up on the Central Coast of CA only - will not ship.
