As originally announced three weeks ago when the "New AstroMart" went live, we will be rolling out a user ratings system this holiday weekend. There will be a special page that explains the whole system, but in a nutshell:
- This is a user-based and user-controlled system. Astromart will not monitor or alter ratings. The system is designed to accommodate response to ratings, so the users themselves can resolve disputes. Also, every person posting a rating will have their email listed with the rating, so this should keep "flamers" away, and limit it to those who truly wish to voice an honest opinion and have nothing to hide.
- Every registered user will have a custom page with all the ratings they have received, their cumulative rating, and their response to ratings, if they choose. This is visible to any user, so they can check your Astromart history. This should help you sell items if you are honest, and hurt you if you are not, making Astromart more "self-policing."
- Only registered users can rate other registered users.
- The only way you can rate a user is by responding to their ad. Once you respond to an ad, you will receive an "e-ticket" that will allow you to rate them ONCE. They will have ONE chance to respond to your rating. This means that you need to wait until a transaction is complete before rating a user, and use your best judgment--don't be hasty--you don't want to regret a hasty posting later; remember, your name/email address is associated with your rating of a user.
