1975 vintage East German aus Jena Ergaval binocular microscope with four apochromatic eyepieces (6.3, 16, 40, and 100x) to trade for your quality middle-aperture refractor (or a set of 1.25" Naglers, or CCD camera or whatever).
The microscope has recently been reconditioned (all sliding surfaces cleaned and regreased, optics inspected, etc.) and is in as-new condition, appraised at $2000-$2500.
I've recently been offered $1250 for it by a microscope dealer who plans to part it out (these DIN 160 apochromatic objectives are apparently very difficult to find anymore since manufacturers have gone to infinity optics). I'd rather it stay together and be used by someone who appreciates quality optics (and I just don't want to wait to find a buyer at the appraised price).
If you'd care to better that offer in cash, or offer a reasonable trade, I'm all ears. The microscope goes to the dealer in a week - save it from disassembly!
