Marvelous wide field porro prism military binoculars made in
Aarau, Switzerland by Kern (of Kern Macro-Switar lens reknown) in 1973, and marked as such. Individual eyepiece focusing, not distracting rangefinding grid in right telescope, remarkably bright and sharp (no haze, cleaning marks, etc) and correctly collimated. Optical performance is very similar to the Carl Zeiss (West) 8 x 30 porro of the same era, but without the yellowed image from Canada balsam deterioration which plagued the Zeiss models These are the metal pop-up eyecup version, presently set for use without eyeglasses. Very minor wear marks on right prism cover, and objective rings. I would rate a very conservative 8.5 out of 10 for cosmetics, and a 10 out of 10 for optical and mechanical integrity. No case and non-original Bausch & Lomb fabric strap. $165 including shipping to U.S. addresses. Payment by money order or PayPal (preferred) will ship immediately. Personal checks are fine but shipping will wait until clear.
