Tabletop reflector with non-correcting front plate. Excellent condition, surprisingly good optics. With a Japanese Meade MA 40mm ep (.965”) in place I used it as an inexpensive and high power (15x) “light bucket” finder for locating some very faint fuzzies. Or if your prefer, I’m including the entire original setup for a really neat camping scope that will easily fit into a backpack, and is, pound for pound, OUTSTANDING for looking at the Moon, Planets, and the Way while far off the beaten path.
Included are the tabletop alt-az mount, a cute little 5x20 RA finder w/ x-hair, a T-adapter and tube extension for the R/P focuser (yes, I have taken photos through it too), and a moon filter. Also included are three ep’s: the aforementioned MA 40mm, and the 6mm and 20mm Huygenians that came with it (and that you can put to better use propping up the tripod legs with to level the mount). Finally, there is also an ep mounted sun filter that you should only use if you would just as soon play Russian Roulette (I debated just throwing this away, but I’m sending it with the strident recommendation that you find another safer use for it). One of the original tripod legs was missing when I got the scope, but you could easily substitute some threaded rod cut to length, or an 8 inch bolt.
All for $75 (the 40mm ep is really excellent, and worth half that at least). Sorry, but I’m keeping the custom made finder bracket to use with the TV Pronto I have to replace this with.
