I have a white Meade 8" SCT OTA that I wish to part with. I am the original owner, having bought the scope from OPT in 2001. It has a Telrad mounting on the top and two Grateful Dead sitcker adorn the sides, hence the scope's name, Jerry. But this scope is not dead. It works wonderfully, though it may need some adjustment to the focuser (see note below). It comes with the Losmandy mounting plate for the GM-8, as well as the 8x50 finder (white tube), purchased from Anacortes in 2001. Also included are the standard Meade diagonal and a Meade 25mm Plossl.
Email me for pics, if you desire them. There are no scratches, etc, in the optics.
note about focuser : This is the only SCT I have used, so this may be normal behaviour : when you gently PULL the focuser knob away from the OTA, there is slight defocusing. I am not sure if you are supposed to be able to pull the knob away from the tube (it is only a small bit) or not.
