I decided to build the scope rather than sell the pieces.

I have for sale a 16" Cassegrain tube assembly plus some extra parts, but minus the optics. I purchased this as a mirror making project, but priorities have changed. I believe that the primary was an f/2.5 and the secondary an f/4, making the EFL and f/10. I do not have drawings for the optical system before the optics were sold by the previous owner. The parts here are listed for sale as a system or individually for the prices listed below.

The tube is an 18" diameter custom made graphite composite, thin walled and reinforced with aluminum where the primary cell and the spider attach. It is coated with a beautiful blue finish with only slight blemishes. There is also a 16" long tube extension and molded dust caps for both ends. The tube is in a machined and anodized aluminum cage designed to hold it into a fork mount. The mount is not available for sale. The original cost of this custom tube exceeded $1000, and the cage added a few hundred to that.

The 16" mirror cell has an 18 point suspension, and is made of cast aluminum with brass moving parts. It is suitable for using with either a perforated mirror or a newtonian design, as the plate that holds the focuser is removable.

There are three 4.25" spider / secondary holder sets. Two of the spiders are 4-vane, and one is a three vane of exceptional quality.

There are two all-metal, 2" focusers designed to fit the back of the mirror cell. One is a straight rack and pinion, while the other is a combination rack and pinion/helical unit.

I have posted mechanical drawings of the tube and cage assembly. Email me for higher resilution pdf files if you want.

My preference is to have the buyer pick up the tube. I'll be at Stellafane and at the Black Forest Star Party or I would be willing to drive up to 150 miles or so to meet someone halfway.

Prices are as follows;
Tube and mounting cage $600
18-point mirror cell $175
4-vane spiders/holder $50 each
3-vane spider/holder $100
2" R&P Focuser $75
2' R&P/Heli focuser $125

Everything above $1100
