This is a Pentax Alt/Az mount from about 1955. This one really cool mount as the Alt and Az motion are both geared. You can see the pivot geard of the Alt in the picture. Opposite of that is a worm gear, same for the Az. Also, both axes have clutches that lock or unlock the gearing system if free motion is desired.
The motion of this mount was perfectly smooth and absolutely incredible. Then, I started to try and make it "just a wee bit better". It is not so smooth anymore. So, you will have to adjust the gears. There is a heavy duty wood tripod included (upper brackets are missing, but it works fine with lower only).
I can also include the 60mm tube which fits nicely in the cradle and thebadly chiped Pentax lens that came with the scope (focuser not included). The system could easily be adapted to hold any small telescope by adding a wood adapter to the cradle.
Thanks for looking,
