I have a new nikon 4500 to sell. I work with a missions organization that works with refugee children and we bought this camera to use in our projects. However, after further consideration, but not before we had already ordered the 4500, we have decided a video camera would better suit our needs and we can't justify tying up the funds for both cameras. I sort of "steered" our initial decision towards the 4500 because I also have a Meade 10" scht. cass. that my father left upon his passing. I was interested in learning how to take pictures through it and learned that the 4500 is excellent for this. But the very fact that it is going to take some time to even learn how to use the telescope has sidetracked this effort of picture taking with the telescope.
I am going to try to include a photo as well but if I can't figure out how to do it, let me assure you that it is a new camera and the software and everything is still unopened. I did take the liberty of putting the battery in the camera and hold it next to the 26mm lens on the telescope just to see what it would do. Took a couple of shots of jupiter but I couldn't hold it steady enough with out some kind of mount. Some people talk about "dead" or "hot" pixels, I didn't notice anything like that but then I only took about 6 shots before putting everything back in the box.
So, as I said, everything is new and sealed up ready to ship. We realize we will probably not get what we paid for it but we can't afford to take much of a loss either since it is new. After some research here and on some auction sites we have set the price at $450.00 with the buyer paying for the shipping to CONUS only.
If I can't figure out how to post a photo, I can email one to you.
shipping will be from 24382 zip.
If need be, I can use my wife's "paypal" (with no credit card payment.)
I will be away from home late saturday until late sunday night so I will respond asap.
