This is a somewhat earlier version of the Mizar 80mm achromat refractor. Well built and sturdy, adjustable lens cell (push-pull). Came with a 560mm FL (f7) and I replaced that with a 536mm FL (f6.7) achromat I bought from Sirius Optics through AM. Lens is coated with the usual AR but also MV. Apparently Al M. was testing his minus-violet coating on objective lenses for a namebrand telescope maker and was dumping his test lenses on AM. Works fine but you can see some uneveness in the MV coating. Will include the original lens as part of the package. Also include are a 1 1/4" Meade prism diagonal, MA 9mm and MA 25mm.

Used as a grab and go scope. During such trip into the mountains, I had to abandon camp suddenly when a flash flood threatened. I placed the scope and the mount in the back of the pick-up truck. The result was some marks on the tube from the rings and one small rubbed area in the paint (6 x 10mm). Afterwards, I used the focuser on a scope I made from an APO camera lens - this also had some wear and tear on the focuser. Scope fits nicely into Vixen 90mm tube rings.

$165 including shipping CONUS. PAYPAL preferred.
