Blackbird Observatory, operated by Ron Wodaski, is proud to announce the availability of open CCD imaging time for both amateurs and professionals.
You can operate the telescope and take images from anywhere in the world via the internet. The observatory is powered by Browser Astronomy from Software Bisque, including many custom features developed first at Blackbird Observatory.
We are now offering a beginner special for $150. It includes one hour of private instruction by Ron Wodaski, and two hours of time on the telescope. The first telescope hour is spent with Ron, learning the ropes, and the second hour is all yours to enjoy on our incredible equipment.
We feature the finest available equipment for CCD imaging:
* 20" Truss Ritchey Chretien from RC Optics
* STL-11000 CCD camera from SBIG
* ST-10XME CCD camera from SBIG
* Sky90 APO refractor from Takahashi (courtesy of Texas Nautical)
* Paramount ME
We have some of the darkest skies in the world at our location in southern New Mexico. We are at 7300 feet elevation, which gives us excellent sky transparency. We offer many packages besides the beginner one described above, from 1 to 100 hours at a time. Contact us by phone or email for more information.
