This is a C-8 AS-GT, only 9 months old, in excellent condition...please give it a good home. Optics are excellent: classic SCT diffraction pattern is identical both sides of focus, and the fine visual performance supports this.

It's the new-style G5 mount with 2" round steel legs and hefty spreader bar. Vibrations damp out in less than 3 seconds. Go-To performance is very good; I haven't had any of the weird behaviors that are being reported on the Celestron forum. Just do a polar alignment, 2-star setup, and start finding any of the thousands of objects in the database. Tracking is excellent: it will keep an object in a high-power field for minutes at a time.

I've added some upgrades:
- Bob's Knobs for easy collimation
- An 8 x 50 finder instead of the standard 6 x 30
- A 6 x 20 polar alignment scope with starmap reticle
- 25' cigarette lighter power adapter
- Flexible dew shield
- A serial to Nextstar cable for PC communication and robotic control (I use Cartes du Ciel; works great).

I also spent a weekend performing Astronomy Boy's tuneup on the mount; it's smooth and sweet with almost no backlash.

I made the corrector plate cover into a solar filter by drilling a couple of 2" holes and covering them with black polymer solar filter (I also have an unmodified plate cover). I'm also including a couple of Celestron Plossls (25mm and 9mm).

Optics are pristine. The only flaws are cosmetic and slight (setscrew marks on the dovetail, and a tiny piece of plastic split off the dec motor casing--see picture at the bottom).

I'm asking $975 and I'll split shipping costs, or will drive a reasonable distance from the DC metro area to drop off. Thanks,
Tim Iafolla
