I have too many telescopes going unused so this one needs a new home. This is a Takahashi FC-60E S/N# 01006 that was purchased new from Texas Nautical in October, 2001. The package includes the OTA, tube ring, 5x25 Finder with bracket, original box plus certificate of inspection, and Tak 2" Adaptor TOA0040. The 2" adaptors allows you to use 2" eyepieces or a 2" diagonal. I must point out that even though the FC-60E has a shortened tube, you will not reach focus on short focal length eyepieces if you use a 2" star diagonal.

The telescope demonstrates slight undercorrection as best as I can tell in the turbulent skies of Indiana. I had Texas Nautical run a cross-check on it and they said it tested excellent. Any undercorrection must be slight because I've been able to run the scope up to 208X without any image breakdown (used 2.5X Televue Powermate + 6 mm Orthoscopic eyepiece).

There is a tiny blemist in the paint on the OTA that came from the factory. It is a dark spot about the size of a period on a piece of paper. There are some wear marks on the foil label of the tube clamp that comes from the lock-down bolt bumping into it. I have not checked the finder to see if there are any paint chip marks from the alignment screws.

Price is $750 shipped. Offer is only for continental US (48 states).

I take only cashiers checks and money orders (bank or US Postal versions).

Shoot me an e-mail if interested.
