ST4 with Flipmate (with eyepiece and LED reticle light)
Much easier to use than an ST4 alone. The parfocal reticle makes it quick and easy to find your object as well as to focus, find, and center a guide star.
Summary of steps.
-Adjust the position screws on your guide scope so that it is centered on the same view as the main scope.
-Use the guide scope reticle to help center and frame your object in your main scope.
-Adjust the position screws on the guide scope to center a nearby star in the center box (puts the star on the 50-50 center of the chip).
-Set exposure and other parameters depending on how dim the star is (using Menu button and Adjust button)(easy instructions included)
-Turn off the reticle light, hit the "Take Dark Frame" (mirror flipped down covers the chip so no need to cover the front lens of the guidescope)
-Flip up the mirror to expose the chip, and hit "Find and Focus"
-Hit Calibrate Drive and let the ST4 go thru its short routine.
-Hit "TRACK", and you are locked on and ready to take pictures with your main scope.
